BRIAN PRINCIPE

As a sports photographer, I view every photo as an opportunity to tell a story. I aim to tell those stories and elicit an emotional response through my photography.

About Me

I would love to tell you that I've been taking pictures ever since I can remember or that I've had a dream of being a professional photographer since a young age. That's simply not true though.

My adult life has led me to photography. It wasn't until after I graduated from the University of South Carolina that I really began to focus on photography. I thought my Broadcast Journalism degree would lead me to a sports reporting career, instead it led me to my current role at Porter-Gaud School where over the span of five years I have learned most everything I know about photography. You can find me on campus holding my Sony a7rIV daily.

I've expanded upon my photography through freelance work. I've worked with the Charleston RiverDogs (MiLB), The Citadel (NCAA), the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL), and Army West Point (NCAA).

I make sure to let everyone know that I grew up in New Jersey. Jersey is less of a place and more of a character trait for me. If you ever find yourself there make sure you get a bagel. I seriously still have them shipped to me in South Carolina every so often.

Thanks for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy.
